Not your average writing workshop. With a focus on writing for performance, our Wordshops get your students excited and engaged with the writing process. Each student will create a new piece of poetry using their own experiences, community and identity as inspiration. These workshops teach your students new ways of expressing their creative ideas using live performance, writing techniques, and video references.

Combining the INSPIRE and ENCOURAGE programs, your students will experience the exhilarating poetry slam show followed by an interactive workshop in creative writing and performance. Finally, they will get to show off their new writing in their very own poetry slam competition! Students will come away with hands-on and in-depth knowledge of creative writing and performance techniques while also learning new skills and building confidence.
