SRISHA SRITHARAN

As a young, Australian-born Tamil woman, Srisha Sritharan uses poetry to explore contemporary socio-politics. Srisha's passion for spoken word placed her as an Australian Poetry Slam finalist at the Sydney Opera House, after securing the title of Champion in Sydney and NSW. Srisha subsequently won the Bankstown Poetry Grand Slam at Sydney Town Hall and was awarded People's Choice, after which she performed interstate in Melbourne, Victoria. Srisha has since performed at the Sydney Writers Festival, Carriageworks and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Interviewed by ABC Lateline and featured over Kendrick Lamar's 2015 track "These Walls" for her winning slam "Fake News", Srisha hopes to start pressing conversations locally and globally.
