STORYTELLING SAMARASĀ: AWARENESS. EMPATHY. ACTION.
WHERE: Sudamala Resort, Ubud, Jl. Suweta No.88, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia
COST: $48
Start: 12:30 pm (local time)
In the grounds of the new Sudamala hotel, under an open sky, eight storytellers step up, one voice at a time, no scripts, no safety net. A palliative care physician who has sat with thousands of last breaths, Rachel Clarke. A wordsmith who spends his life chasing the scandalous pasts of ordinary words, Sumanto Chattopadhyay. A historian keeping a thousand-year-old epic alive for a new generation, Louie Buana. A travel writer who questions the confines of female traveling, Trinity. A playwright who turns grief, borders and belonging into something close to love, Eva Fernandes. An Opera House poetry slam champion who can hold a room in total silence, Arantza García Ferrand. A writer who weaves stories as well as music, Anna Carey and a master of spoken word to bring them all together, Miles Merrill. How many stories does it take to hold a room silent? Join us for an afternoon, one stage and eight storytellers.
