SICK Orchestra

The Sydney Improvisers Composers Kollektiv (SICK) Orchestra is Australia's foremost conducted improvisation ensemble.

Members of the ensemble perform or have performed in a diverse range of situations from SSO, ACO, Synergy, Ensemble Offspring, Australian Opera, The Song Company, The Mothership Orchestra, as well as festival headlining acts as well as the experimental and improvisational scenes in Australia and abroad.

With it's personnel selected from Sydney's most interesting composers, improvisers and performers, the ensemble pivots and dances between the gamut of disciplines, genres and traditions from classical, jazz, electronic, traditional with, at its core, a mission to bring musical artists into the 21st century, freed from 19th and 20th century shackles of specialisation, hierarchies and instrumental subordination.
