Laurrie Brannigan-Onato
Laurrie Brannigan-Onato is an Asian-Australian-First Nation (Darumbal/Bundjalung) emerging producer who was born and raised in Sydney’s Greater West suburbs.
Laurrie has an extensive background in factual, scripted and reality television, having worked in broadcast television (both for broadcasters and production companies) and later, working with screen funding agencies. Laurrie also has developed and produced her own content, hoping to tell diverse and difficult stories in entertaining and accessible ways. Her independent shorts have screened both locally and internationally, at a variety of film festivals including, but not limited to Flickerfest, Sydney Underground Film Festival, Melbourne Underground Film Festival and the Byron Bay International Film Festival.
Laurrie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Media, Arts and Production (2013) from the University of Technology Sydney, an Advanced Diploma in Screenwriting from AFTRS (2017) and is a recipient of the North Sydney Art Prize.
Laurrie currently works at Screen Australia as a Development and Investment Manager within the Indigenous Department, managing a variety of projects, ranging from development to production investment.
