Ali Cobby Eckermann

Ali Cobby Eckermann is a Yankunytjatjara poet whose first collection little bit long time was written in the desert and published in 2009. Ali set up the first Aboriginal Writers Retreat before attending the 2014 International Writing Program in Iowa City USA and in 2017 was awarded an inaugural Windham Campbell Prize for Poetry from Yale University. A Stolen Generations survivor Ali advocates the strength and truth of personal story as a valued healing tool. She resides on Ngadjuri country with her red heeler Tjili.
