Maryam Zahid
Maryam Zahid is the Founder and CEO of Afghan Women on The Move (AWOTM) in Australia, an organisation dedicated to empowering Afghan and refugee women through education, advocacy, and cultural inclusion. She has over 24 years’ experience in community development, gender-based violence prevention, and migrant health. Maryam has studied community development, health counselling, and public policy at Oxford University, and has participated on national and international platforms, including the CSW69 UN talks. She has also completed executive leadership training at Stanford University. An award-winning human rights champion, Maryam is a passionate advocate for refugee and migrant women.
