Priya Srinivasan is founder of The Pomegranate Workshop, a Mumbai based arts education company set up in 2006. Prior to setting up Pomegranate, Priya has been a journalist with leading television and print media organizations in India. Sensing a need for embedding the arts in Indian education, as a young mother looking for play based arts education for her 6 year old, Priya decided to steer away from journalism and throw herself fully into creating arts based education for children and adults alike.

Over the years, Pomegranate established itself as a valuable partner for several Mumbai schools looking to embed the arts in their everyday curriculum. Pomegranate's theatre and film modules have turned out productions and films that have won international accolades. Pomegranate has also facilitated several cross continental programs between students and teachers in India with those in the UK, US and Australia. The most impactful areas of Pomegranate's work have been with low income schools and communities in Mumbai including the transgender community. Leveraging the arts as the most powerful agent of change, Pomegranate has been a springboard for many artists to find their voice through theatre, film and visual art. Priya continues to lead programming and partnerships at Pomegranate.
