Zeinab Mir

Zeinab Mir is an Iranian artist and engineer who came to Australia in 2007. Zeinab’s art practice focuses on drawing, graphic storytelling and short films. Her work explores the themes of identity, displacement, personal history, war and trauma. Zeinab is the creator of the comic ‘A Safer Place’, which recounts her experience of aerial bombardment during the Iran-Iraq war.  Her recent comic ‘12days of War’ reflects her experiences during Israel’s recent attack on Iran. She volunteers as a workshop and event facilitator with the not-for-profit community art organisation Refugee Art Project.

Zeinab was a participating artist alongside other members of the Refugee Art Project community, in documenta fifteen, which was held in Kassel Germany in 2022.
