POETIC JOURNALISM
WHERE: Agung Stage, Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, G723+X9C, Kedewatan, Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali 80571, Indonesia
Start: 5:30 pm (local time)
What does it mean for a poet to bear witness to the state of the world? Audre Lorde once wrote that poetry is not a luxury, and poets have long written through circumstances of war, displacement, grief, and political discontent. What power does poetry have to report on the state of the world? How do poets balance research and fact with feeling? Join poets Anthony Tao, Arantza García Ferrand, and Baskara Putra for a timely conversation led by Eva Fernandes about the political and socio-cultural forces that shape their work, and the power of poetry as a truth-telling tool.
