This 3-hour workshop introduces methods of writing in response to the senses. Our bodies are constantly fizzing with information about our surroundings; how to tune into it, and record it, as language?
The workshop takes place outdoors in the fascinating ecology of Royal Park, Melbourne, and is suitable for writers in any form who are seeking to expand their technique. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome, especially emerging. We will work on guided prompts to focus inner and outer attention, generate original language responses to sensation, and write into a radically layered environment. Leave with methods and ideas to carry with you anywhere.
Content Warning: Most Poetry Slams and literary events are all ages and some content may not be suitable for children. Performances may include strong language and / or adult themes.
Event times local time.
